MARZUQ "MARZ" ASANTI has had music in him since birth. Beating on furniture with tinker toys, using the sink as bongos while washing dishes. After graduating high school he joined the Air Force as a Security Specialist. While serving his country he learned of Air Force talent shows and competitions where he auditioned and became the bassist for the 1992 United States Air Forces in Europe Showcase. He traveled all over Europe performing and entertaining his fellow troops and their families. He also competed in the 1992 Air Force Worldwide Talent Competition and won the coveted "Roger" award for Best Instrumental Group 1st Place. After separating from the Air Force he began to gig on the local scene in Chicago where he met up with Producer D.J. I.N.C and Saxophonist Marqueal Jordan and recorded his first album as a session bassist on "The Afterset Sessions". It was then that the Muse began to call on him and steered him into songwriting and producing. He wrote his first two songs 'Ugly Girl " and "The Cafe". From there he started his journey as a songwriter and producer and has never looked backed. Large Bottom Productions was incorporated as an LLC in 2020 and put in motion to follow his dream of writing and producing music professionally for himself and others. He has released two recent singles "Bruhman" and "She's Strange" on the smooth jazz circuit and Steppin' Out Feat. Philly recording artist Carol Riddick (Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott) on the RnB circuit .
